Any sturdy and durable tent has its service life. Proper maintenance and care can extend the service life of the tent a lot, and the method of use is actually very simple:

When you buy a new tent from the store and return home, remember to put another layer of seam glue on the waterproof seam glue of the tent. Why? Because we don’t know how much time has passed since the tent was made, delivered to the store, and then handed to you. Although you may have inspected it in detail in the store and feel that the tent has no shortcomings, in order to have a comfortable It feels good, take waterproofing measures again!

Practice pitching your tent! “If you want to do your job well, you must first sharpen your tools.” If you arrive at the campsite and don’t know how to set up your own tent, wouldn’t it be a big embarrassment? Being familiar with your tent will help you avoid being overwhelmed when unexpected situations arise. Improperly setting up a tent can easily cause damage to the tent, so do not be careless.

Keep the tent as dry as possible before putting it away! After finishing your outdoor trip, remember to hang the tent up to dry it. If the tent is a little dirty, just scrub it gently with cold water! Never use chemical detergents or scrub hard, as this will destroy the waterproof membrane on the surface of the fabric and reduce the waterproof effect of the tent.

Mold in the tent will destroy the waterproofness of the tent. If mold occurs, use a sponge with a little detergent to gently brush away the mold.

When doing waterproofing of sutures, you must first determine whether waterproofing is needed, because not every suture needs to be treated with suture glue. Usually, sutures on puddles that are exposed to rainwater require suture glue, so The seams of the raincloth and ground cloth must be waterproof. As for the inner wall of the inner tent, since it will not be in direct contact with rainwater, there is no need to worry!

The second step is to decide which side should be treated with seam glue. Generally, it is usually on the inside of the rain cloth and ground cloth. To be precise, it should be on the other side with the waterproof film, that is, the side without waterproof film treatment. Seam glue. The simple way is to drop some water on the cloth. If it still maintains the shape of water droplets, it means there is a waterproof film covering it. If the water spreads, that side is your target.

Next, you need to start applying suture glue. Prepare a clean and dry toothbrush to remove the old bristles, and then apply suture glue on the sutures. After the suture glue dries, pull the fabric taut. Stretch the sutures so that the suture glue can penetrate, then wait another hour for the suture glue to completely dry and you’re done! Finally, use a sprinkler to sprinkle water to make sure there is no leakage. If there is still water leakage, wait until the fabric is completely dry before repeating the previous four steps.
