1. Methods and principles of lint humidification
(1) Methods of lint humidification
There are many ways to humidify lint. According to the different principles of humidification devices, they can be divided into steam humidification, high-pressure spray humidification, and ultrasonic atomization humidification. According to the different positions of lint humidification, it can be divided into humidification in the lint tube, humidification in the lint collection machine and humidification on the lint slide. No matter what method of humidification is adopted, it must be completed with vaporized water.
(2) Principle of lint humidification
Lint humidification is a process in which the dry cotton fiber is in contact with hot and humid air to absorb moisture and regain moisture based on the natural hydrophilic properties of cotton fiber. For example, water should be atomized under high pressure first, then vaporized at high temperature, and then the high-temperature and high-humidity airflow should be introduced into the lint tube (or into the lint collecting machine, or on the lint slide) to fully mix it with the lint, so that the dry lint can be free. The purpose is to absorb moisture and increase the moisture regain of lint.
It must be noted that whether it is lint humidification or sub-cotton humidification, it cannot be carried out in the form of liquid water, otherwise it may lead to adverse consequences such as cotton discoloration.
