Introduction to FUTEX” film (ePTFE)
Product introduction: FUTEX” film is a polymer material with excellent waterproof and moisture permeability, windproof and breathable, warm, blocking bacteria, viruses, particles and other functions. FUTEX” film has various indicators such as waterproof, moisture permeable, windproof, warm Performance, etc. are all at the highest level, comparable to well-known European and American brands.
Structural features: FUTEX” film thickness range: 1.2μm-8μm. Hydrophilic groups are introduced on the surface of the film to allow it to absorb water vapor and conduct and emit it.
Waterproof and moisture-permeable function: Because the FUTEX” film has hydrophilic groups and is not microporous on the surface, the FUTEX” film has very excellent waterproof and moisture-permeable functions.
Windproof and breathable function: FUTEX” film has a breathability of 1-5mm/s under a pressure of 125Pa.
Particle isolation function: FUTEX” film isolates viruses, germs and particles through mechanical interception, adsorption interception (FUTEX” film has strong electrostatic charge) and other methods.
Three major functions of FUTEX
Waterproof
When the body gets wet from rain or snow, it will severely lose body temperature and make us feel cold; therefore, outdoor clothing must first be waterproof. Since the surface of FUTEX membrane is not microporous, rainwater cannot penetrate, so FUTEX outdoor clothing is absolutely waterproof.
Breathable
The human body is constantly sweating. If sweat accumulates in clothes and condenses into sweat, the moist sweat will cause the body to lose temperature, so we will feel cold. Therefore, we need to wear breathable clothes to allow sweat to evaporate easily and avoid moisture accumulation. The surface of FUTEX film contains hydrophilic groups, which can easily absorb water. The human body’s sweat can easily evaporate through the film, keeping the body comfortable and dry at all times.
Windproof
Windy weather can cause our body temperature to drop, so we need windproof clothing to maintain our body temperature. The surface of FUTEX film is dense and seamless, forming excellent windproof performance, so it can block the penetration of cold wind and maintain a proper body temperature.
The difference between FUTEX two-layer fabric and three-layer fabric
The second-layer fabric is composed of a surface fabric and a second layer of FUTEX film bonded together. When using the second-layer fabric to make garments, a lining is required. The three-layer fabric is made of surface fabric, FUTEX film and lining. It does not require an additional lining when making garments. Whether it is FUTEX two-layer fabric or three-layer fabric, it is waterproof, windproof and breathable.
FUTEX Clothing Care Guide
It is very important to wash FUTEX clothing regularly. Don’t forget to check the care label before washing to make sure you wash it the right way. Machine washing: Use warm water at 40 degrees and appropriate amount of washing powder for machine washing. It is recommended to use laundry detergent because it has less impact on the water-repellent properties of the surface of the clothes. You can also use liquid soap for washing. Do not use bleach or softener: You can use stain remover to remove stains from clothing before washing. The earlier the stain is removed, the better the effect. Also make sure to rinse the garment after washing.
Drying: Set the temperature to 55 degrees to dry the clothes. The heat of the dryer helps restore the water-repellent properties of the fabric.
Ironing: Low-temperature steam ironing will also achieve a drying-like effect.
Dry cleaning: If the FUTEX garment has been worn for a long time and is dirty and has sweat and stains, you can choose dry cleaning. Occasional dry cleaning will not damage the FUTEX film and will clean the garment thoroughly.
When FUTEX clothing is dirty and soaked with sweat, be sure to clean it before storing it.
Do not store in direct sunlight.
When sitting or lying down while wearing FUTEX clothing, check the ground to prevent the clothing from being snagged.
Salt water will not affect the performance of FUTEX fabrics, just wash and dry them with clean water.
FUTEX shoe care guide
The following care guidelines apply to all outdoor shoes, especially hiking and mountaineering shoes that are worn in extreme conditions.
*After each wear, take out the insoles, loosen the laces, and let the shoes dry naturally. If your shoes are very wet, stuff them with newspapers or shoe trees.
*For dirty FUTEX shoes, first clean them with a brush dipped in water. For non-leather shoes (such as nylon shoes), just use a sponge dipped in warm water. Treat non-leather shoes with a water-repellent agent after they dry.
*All shoes must be allowed to dry at room temperature and should never be placed near a heat source or exposed to sunlight. Leather is prone to burning, deformation, bending, drying out and bursting.
*Do not store dry shoes in a humid space – as leather is a natural product, it is prone to mold.
*Please use footwear care products regularly! ——Maintain leather and restore surface water resistance.
* Rubbing oil on the tongue part can prevent the leather from making noise, and rubbing oil on the metal parts can prevent them from oxidizing and rusting.
*If FUTEX shoes are not maintained and water-resistant treated, the waterproof and breathable properties of the FUTEX membrane will not be damaged, but the breathability, durability and comfort of the entire pair of shoes will be affected.
