Hubei Province, located in the Jianghan Plain, is an important cotton production base in the country. I have long heard that Jie Liya Group has acquired 9 state-owned enterprises in Hubei to expand its production capacity. In Jiayu County, Xianning City, we met Shi Yunfei, vice president of Jialiya Textile Group, who is in his fifth year in Hubei.
Shi Yunfei told reporters that with the development of the group, the amount of cotton used has also increased year by year. Currently, an average of nearly 30 tons of cotton is used every day. Expanding in Hubei can meet the raw material needs of the headquarters. It can provide more than 7,000 tons of cotton to the Zhuji headquarters every year. With this raw material production base, we can also start from cotton procurement to cotton yarn production to ensure the quality of towels. Shi Yunfei said with a smile: “Now we have cotton yarn on hand, so we don’t panic.”
With the arrival of Jieliya, the Jieliya brand has been recognized by more and more people in the Central Plains region. “In this way, we have also increased the development of the domestic market. Coming to Hubei does not mean stopping the development of the headquarters. In Zhuji, we established the first domestic towel scientific research base and focused our development on increasing technological transformation and New product development and other high-tech projects are tilted.”
Of course, Jie Liya is not the only company that goes to Hubei to “pick” cotton.
In Jingzhou City, the new factory of Yuemei Group’s Hubei branch will be put into production in October. The new factory is located in a circular economy industrial park. The first phase of the project covers 35,000 square meters. Currently, four printing and dyeing production lines are passing project demonstration. When we arrived in Shashi District, Jingzhou City, Xu Zhiming, president of Yuemei Group, took us to visit the old factory here.
“This old factory has a great history. It was founded by Du Yuesheng. After we move to the new factory area, we will build real estate here, and we plan to turn the old workshop into a textile museum.” Xu Zhiming acted as our on-site commentator. This cotton spinning mill was acquired by the Yuemei Group in November 2005, mainly because the Hubei market could provide raw materials for Zhuji headquarters. “Originally, we had to go to Sichuan, Shandong and other places to purchase raw materials. Now we can produce five to six hundred tons of cotton yarn every month. We have advantages in quality and price, and we can also guarantee the delivery time. For our group , it also realizes a one-stop industrial chain from raw materials to spinning to weaving to sales.”
“To be honest, the group seeks development space outside, after all, to strengthen the strength of the headquarters. Now, the group’s exports and tax revenue are increasing every year, and sales are growing at a rate of 60% a year. This year it is expected to reach 2 billion yuan.” Xu Zhiming said that in addition to performance, what he is proud of is the years of hard work. The diligence and hard-working spirit of Zhuji people have impressed the people of Hubei.
Thinking of the days when he first took over the cotton spinning factory, Xu Zhiming sighed with emotion: “At that time, as a foreigner, I came here to take over a bankrupt enterprise, and many old employees had the mentality of ‘watching a good show’. When I was busy, I had to go to Zhuji, Traveling back and forth in Hubei, I could only use the seven or eight hours on the road to sleep. At dawn, I just arrived at the factory in Hubei and started working non-stop again. Later, the factory was operating normally and the output increased. Those who wanted to watch the show Hubei people have to admire us Zhuji people.”
Zhejiang Socks Group also has a textile company in Hubei, with an annual output of 70,000 tons of spindles. Ma Guoquan, the person in charge of the group, told us that one-third of the cotton yarn produced by the Hubei company is supplied to the Zhuji headquarters. In the past few years, the economic benefits achieved by the Zhejiang socks industry through diversified development in the Hubei market have eventually returned to Zhuji, feeding back the development of the enterprise. For example, last year, more than 40,000 square meters of new factory buildings were invested in Zhuji, more than 1,000 new sock machines were added, and more than 60 million yuan was invested in technical improvements. This year, the output value is expected to reach 500 million yuan.
“When starting a business abroad, I always feel like I have no friends. As a person, the leaves will eventually return to their roots. When we work hard outside, we ultimately aim for the development of the group and the development of our hometown.” Ma Guoquan said.
Reporter’s Notes
Under the leadership of relevant personnel from the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee and the United Front Work Department, we conducted interviews and experienced the feelings of Zhuji entrepreneurs who love their hometown and benefit their people. As Ma Guoquan said, “Working abroad is ultimately for the development of the group and the development of hometown.” In order to ensure the production and sales of their headquarters, textile companies go to Hubei to obtain “materials”. They not only improve product quality from raw materials, but also expand sales channels in the domestic market. This is not just to promote the transformation and upgrading of enterprises and better serve Zhuji. Does it contribute to local economic development? ov0cZUL
