Cotton yarn prices rise in northern India, cotton prices fall

Foreign news on August 25, textile mill strategies seem to have successfully reduced cotton prices and boosted yarn prices. Cotton prices have fallen in the past few days and cotton yarn prices have increased by Rs 5-10 per kg due to production cuts and limited supply. Cotton yarn prices increased in both Delhi and Ludhiana markets.

Cotton yarn prices have further surged in the Ludhiana market as supply from spinning mills has reduced while demand remains normal. A local businessman said, “In the past few days, textile mills have increased their selling prices by Rs 10-12 per kg. Due to the recent increase in cotton prices, they are facing a gap of Rs 60 per kg. The demand is also at average levels, which can support Yarn prices.” Market players expect demand to improve in mid-September. According to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro, 30-count pure cotton worsted yarn is priced at Rs 394-399 per kilogram (including excise tax) in Ludhiana, an increase of Rs 9. 20-count and 25-count worsted yarns were traded at Rs 380-385 and Rs 385-390. 30 count woolen yarn is quoted at Rs 345-350 per kg.

Regular limited buying was seen in Delhi market. Decline in textile mill output supported cotton yarn prices. The trading price of cotton yarn increased by Rs 5-10 per kg. A trader in Delhi said buyers are buying cotton yarn but in limited quantities. With supply reduced, demand is enough to support prices. The price of 30 count worsted yarn is 385-390 rupees per kg (GST extra), 40 count worsted yarn is trading at 425-430 rupees per kg, 30 count slub yarn is trading at 345-350 rupees per kg, 40 count slub The yarn is trading at Rs 380-385 per kg.

Panipat recycled yarn trade shows a stable trend. Recycled yarn prices hover around previous levels. According to trade sources, exports and local demand remained at average levels. Buyers are wary of excess purchases. They only cater to immediate needs. The seller is not prepared to lower the price. They hope demand will improve next month. In Panipat market, 30-count recycled yarn is sold at Rs 160-165 per kg (excluding GST). The trading price of 10-count recycled yarn (white) is 90-95 rupees per kilogram (excluding consumption tax), the trading price of 10-count recycled yarn (colored high-quality) is 110-115 rupees per kilogram, and the trading price of 10-count recycled yarn (colored low-quality) The price is 80-85 rupees per kilogram.

At the same time, cotton prices in northern India fell further by 500-800 rupees per morund (37.2 kg) due to reduced production by textile mills. According to traders, after the recent price increase, buying orders decreased, causing prices to fall back. However, trading was very thin due to insufficient supply. Cotton is traded at 9,700-9,800 rupees per morind in Punjab, 8,000-8,500 rupees per morind in Haryana, and 9,700-9,800 rupees per morind in Rajasthan. Rs 95,000-97,000 per kandhi (356 kg) in southern Rajasthan. Prices fell sharply in Haryana, by as much as Rs 1,500-2,000 per morund due to poor cotton quality at the end of the season.
