Startups Join the Fashion Innovation Revolution

12 selected startups have joined the “Plug and Play Accelerator Program” launched by the Dutch sustainable fashion innovation base “Good Fashion”. The solutions proposed by these startups The solution covers innovative technologies such as garment accessories, recycling, smart machinery and virtual garment market.

“C&AFoundation”, a foundation affiliated with the global retailer “C&A Group”, launched the sustainable fashion innovation platform “Good Fashion” in March 2017. The industry has launched a call for collaboration to help brands, retailers and manufacturers find more innovative and sustainable ways of producing fashion. Its ‘ScalingProgramme’ aims to fast track the adoption of the latest technologies in the ready-to-wear supply chain.

In the sixth level of innovative solutions, new focus areas include digital accessory solutions, reusable packaging, recycling, recycling and smart machinery. This will be complemented by innovative technologies from the previous tier, such as new materials, dyeing and finishing, circular business models and traceability, among others.

Selected innovators will receive coaching, impact assessment guidance, financial support and market validation from program partners to scale their innovative technologies .

The innovators selected in the sixth level are:

(1)CadelDeinking: CadelDeinking removed Printing inks and labels in plastics are mechanically recycled to produce high-quality, high-recycling pellets. Pellets produced using deinking technology are similar in quality to virgin plastic and can be used in the same applications as new materials.

(2) CocoonBiotech: CocoonBiotech develops a biotechnology platform designed to produce biocompatible silk proteins. The platform dissolves virgin silk, post-consumer silk waste and supply chain waste into a liquid protein solution, from which it extracts fiber, liquid and gel materials.

(3) Fabricant: Fabricant is a digital fashion company that “only wastes data and uses imagination” to lead the fashion industry into a new field of digital clothing. Fabricant focuses on fashion design and animation of 3D realistic images, which can be used for digital fashion editing, digital clothing and irregular product series development.

(4)FrankieCollective: FrankieCollective is committed to transforming excess products into high-demand street style clothing. Repurposing old garments and excess inventory that ended up in landfills into modern items.

(5) PreSize: PreSize is a 3D body scanning technology that uses the camera of any smartphone to find the data input that best fits the user’s body shape. Unlike other smartphone FitSolutions, PreSize is a 100 percent web-based system that uses consumer videos to estimate key points on the body, ensuring a higher level of body sizing accuracy.

(6)RE-NT: RE-NT is headquartered in Germany and provides recurring white-label leasing services and online platforms. Consumers can browse the latest fashion online, and RE-NT provides rental services. Brands can still reach consumers without having to deal with order operations and logistics.

(7) Resorttecs: Resorttecs produces dissolvable sutures that facilitate the repair and recycling of garments. Used to connect off-material products such as zippers, buttons and hook and loop fasteners, these stitches are intended for repair, recycling, reuse and material reuse of unsold inventory of ready-made garments and can decompose at high temperatures.

(8)Returnity: Returnity provides customized design, reusable and recyclable transportation packaging for individuals and businesses, and provides sustainable packaging solutions , to improve customer experience and engagement.

(9) Smartex: Smartex uses a combination of Internet of Things (IOT) sensors and artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning software to provide real-time detection and discovery during fabric production flaw. This technology helps textile manufacturers improve production yields and reduce defect rates to less than 0.1%.

(10)Sozie: Sozie’s size design uses real consumer body shapes through fit and style feedback to produce products that meet the potential buyers’ clothing sizes and styles. Body type clothing. Sozies spends 24/7 searching for clothing in retail stores and then reports back with photos, style reviews and fit experiences. Over time and accumulated data, a clothing library is generated, and shoppers can instantly browse online for clothing information that matches their body shape.

(12)Unspun: Unspun is an on-demand garment company that uses 3D scanning and fitting algorithms to produce digital consumer sizes. Using 3D information, it can customize the production of jeans and produce perfectly fitting products through 3D weaving technology. This technology eliminates back-end inventory, reduces wasteful processes, and ultimately increases the longevity and wear-ability of the garment.

FashionforGood announces the launch of new products��GoodFashionFund, which will fund investments in supply chain innovation in India, Bangladesh and Vietnam so that manufacturers can improve their environmental and social impact. With a target size of US$60 million, it is said to be the first investment fund focused on promoting innovative solutions in the fashion industry.
