According to the General Administration of Customs, in the first half of this year, my country’s textile and apparel exports were US$140.09 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12.1% (a year-on-year increase of 3.4% in RMB), and an increase of 12.8% compared with the same period in 2019 (before the epidemic). Among them, apparel foreign trade continued to improve, with cumulative exports reaching US$71.53 billion, a year-on-year increase of 40.3% (a year-on-year increase of 29.5% in RMB). In the first half of the year, my country’s textile exports were US$68.56 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 7.4% (a year-on-year decrease of 14.5% in RMB), mainly affected by the high export base of anti-epidemic textiles in the same period last year. Since the beginning of this year, although the total export volume of national mask products has remained high, the unit price has dropped significantly. At the same time, due to the rapid growth of exports of upstream products such as chemical fiber filament yarns and fabrics, the overall export of textiles in the first half of this year increased by 17.0% compared with before the epidemic (the same period in 2019).
In June, national textile and apparel exports were US$27.66 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 4.5% (in US dollars) and a month-on-month increase of 13.7%. Among them, textile exports were US$12.52 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 22.4%, and a month-on-month increase of 3.2%; clothing exports that month were US$15.15 billion, continuing to maintain a high growth rate this year, with exports increasing by 18.1% year-on-year and 24.2% month-on-month. </p
