Local time on June 2 At 19:30, a fire accident occurred at an oil refinery in the south of Tehran, the capital of Iran. The scene was filled with thick smoke and severe fire. Preliminary investigation showed that the cause of the fire was a natural gas leak in a liquefied natural gas pipeline, and about 18 oil storage tanks caught fire. The head of public relations at the Tehran refinery denied that the cause of the fire was sabotage but was caused by technical problems.

According to reports, as of now, the fire has been basically controlled.

On the same day, the supply ship “Hagar”, the largest ship of the Iranian Navy, caught fire on the coast of the Gulf of Oman and has now sunk. According to reports, the personnel on board the “Hagar” have been safely rescued, but Iranian officials have still not explained the cause of the fire.

In recent months, Iran’s infrastructure has been plagued by frequent destructive events, with multiple fires and explosions in refineries, factories and medical facilities. .

In early May, a fire broke out in Bushehr Port, and a few hours later, another explosion and fire broke out at a chemical plant in Qazvin.

In April and June last year, explosions at the Natanz nuclear facility were severely damaged, but did not cause any radioactive leaks. Tehran blamed Israel for both incidents. Israel strongly opposes Iran’s nuclear program but denies any involvement in the explosion at the Natanz facility. </p
