PTFE liquid filter membrane is made of polytetrafluoroethylene fine powder and additives that are fully mixed and then fed into an extruder. The powder is pushed to squeeze out strips of PTFE, which are then rolled into membrane sheets under a rolling machine.
After heating to remove the additives, it can be stretched longitudinally and transversely. After heat treatment, shaping, cutting and winding, a biaxially stretched microfiltration membrane is obtained.
The transverse stretching stage is a key step in controlling the microporous structure and thickness of PTFE liquid filtration membrane.
During the transverse stretching process, each part of the film along the transverse stretching direction is stretched unevenly, and transverse stretching is an uneven stretching process.
Compared with the two sides of the film, the stretch in the middle part is relatively small. Uneven transverse stretching causes the middle region of the film in the transverse stretching direction to have small pores and low porosity, while the two sides have large pores and porosity.
The difference in microporous structure in the transverse stretching direction of the film will affect the waterproof and moisture-permeable properties of the film and its laminated fabric.
